Promoting alternative energy in Kuwait... well that's brilliant

Check out what just came across the wires straight from the Governor's desk...

Governor Jennifer M. Granholm today announced that she will travel to Israel and Kuwait to meet with company leaders and encourage them to invest and grow in Michigan. The mission, scheduled April 30 to May 8, will be the governor's sixth overseas investment mission since 2004...

Granholm will meet with leaders of the countries' advanced manufacturing, alternative energy, homeland security/defense, and water treatment technology sectors, which include government and company officials, to develop partnerships and encourage companies to do business in Michigan.

Promoting alternative energy in Kuwait.  Hmm... well, that's certainly outside-the-box thinking.  Either that or a slap in the face of every single power-player in one of the LARGEST FREAKING OIL PRODUCING NATIONS ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET.  I mean, one way or the other.

We are just Hick Entreprenaurs in Michigan (none / 0) (#1)

We need not support the homegrown entreprenaurs.

Lets go abroad and get jobs So the government can be the hero. The media eats this up.

Michigan used to be a state to be proud of.

Liberalism on parade.  Look at the wall of shame
They sure look smarter than the rest of us, Dont They.

    Visit to Kuwait (none / 0) (#2)

Let's see if the Governor chooses to legitimize the subservient position of women in most Muslim cultures by donning the hijab while visiting Kuwait.

Maybe we'll find out just how committed she is to women's rights.

    I guess I was wrong. (none / 0) (#3)

I guess the Governor is that stupid. That someone that stupid and that ignorant is in charge of this state is shocking, scary, and downright criminal.

    I think she's slick. (none / 0) (#4)

We will more then likely hear the Kuwaitis pretend to go along and be a part of this green thing. It's a slick a$$, power grabbing scam.

The only way to rid ourselves of this carbon "problem" is for everyone to quit breathing.

Those who feel they are truly in the know should start first.

This is just like a Socialist (none / 0) (#5)

This is so stupid as to remind me of the recent hearings in Congress with the oil executives and the blowhard Neo-Communists in the Democrat Party. Ed"Idiot for Life" Markey shaking that boney little New England finger at people who can buy and sell his kind of Congressman all day long and telling them they need to invest in technology that would in essence put them out of business. Stupidity coupled with arrogance will be this countries undoing.
And once again I ask. Where is the Governor and why is she hiding? Is she afraid to face the people of this state or should we call it a welfare gulag? Is she going on another tax payer funded vacation under the guise of a business trip? Where is our Criminal of a Governor. WAIT. maybe she is going to try and float a loan to pay her delinguent taxes. If I were the rulers of Kuwait I would think long and hard on the one. The Governor isn't a good investment risk. Just like the state she has presided over for these long disasterous five and a half years.

    Incompetent Governor (none / 0) (#6)

You would think that after all these overseas trips by a governor that Michigan would not have the highest unemployment rate since 1982 -- unless that governor is Jennifer Granholm.  My inside source informs me that the reason why VW left Michigan for Virginia is because the company cannot stand dealing with Governor Granholm.
