New Michigan unemployment numbers out for the month of May.  8.5%.  Highest rate since 1992.

Apparently those tax hikes have really worked wonders turning the state's economy around.

    Granholm's Michigan (none / 0) (#1)

When Jennifer Granholm said during her re-election campaign that we hadn't "seen anything yet," well, wow!  Now this is something to be proud of.

Granholm's Michigan now has a stunning 8.5% unemployment rate - fully 3 points higher than the national average!  What an achievement from this Harvard grad and her comrads running the state house.

If Saul and the MI-GOP isn't ALL OVER THIS from now through November 4th, they deserve to lose.

Take back the House!  Expand our majority in the Senate!  This can be done.

    Just do it!!

is a perfect example of what's going on. mexico tells them they'll work for $1.60 an hour plus lunch if they move the plant down there. and, of course, the company moves down there. duh.

has nothing to do with unions, libs, or tree huggers. it has everything to do with pure greed.

    the end.

...if you have any background in economics you will discover that the amount of jobs leaving our country is so minuscule that when you factor it into the unemployment rate you really would have no change if those jobs would still be here in our state.

    We're talking about Michigan here... (none / 0) (#4)

...not the rest of the country.

I believe John McCain said it himself, 'those manfacturing jobs aren't coming back'.

Yep, just stick your head in the sand and repeat Granholm's talking points...

Meanwhile, Michigan has lost more jobs to other states within the United States than we've lost to either Mexico OR China combined.

The problem is with our state of Michigan and our regressive, oppressive state tax structure.

Give control of the state legislature this year and the governorship in 2010 back to the Republican if you want to return Michigan to the economic powerhouse it once was!

...let me try explaining this differently. The manufacturing jobs in Michigan that we lost, were not lost to Mexico. They were lost [period].

Let's not forget to congratulate the morons on both sides of the aisle that pushed through that wonderful minimum wage increase last year.
