    Republican Dierdre Scozzafava abruptly suspended her campaign today.  She did so while saying
    "I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit."

    She did not however endorse the conservative Hoffman, who is in reality a Republican. Enough said?

    Conservatism is quite alive.. and well.

    I'm glad that Dede has dropped out.  Ed Morressey believes the withdrawal will help Hoffman versus Owens.  

    I have not found anything yet from Michael Barone who speaks the gospel of such things.

    This whole cluster could have been avoided if the party heads in the NY County GOP's picked someone who was a fit for the district instead of a crony.

    When there is no primary, the county parties pick candidates. That's sometimes the case in Michigan as well for township offices after a recall.

    That's one reason why our county party leadership positions is so important.

    Jackass. The liberal "republicans" always tell us conservatives to "play nice." The Joe Schwarz types back the democrats when they lose. The conservatives who lose take one for the team in most cases.

    I don't forget that stuff.

    And I wonder if we'll see a commercial with Gingrich and Scozzafava on a couch promoting Owens.
