Spoke this morning with Joan Fabiano and the Tea Party team and there is big news re: the April 15th shindig.  Specifically, they've landed a big "get."
Americans for Prosperity-Michigan and team just announced that Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, "Joe the Plumber," will speak at the Michigan Taxpayer Tea Party on the steps of the State Capitol in Lansing on April 15th.

"With one simple question to Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, Joe the Plumber changed the atmosphere of last fall's presidential campaign," said Scott Hagerstrom, state director of Americans for Prosperity.  "Joe is truly an inspiration to all Americans on how grassroots activism can have a positive difference for the future of our country."

So too are Joan, Melanie Hall and Wendy Day who have been working, with others (forgive me for failing to mention EVERYONE) and a huge coalition of pro-freedom organizations to put this event together.  Even learned this morning that Jason Gillman has chartered a BUS to help folks get to Lansing from Traverse City!

The tea party is part of a larger nation-wide movement to protest wasteful government spending at the state and national levels. The event is free and open to the public.

"Joe is the symbol of how the average American can make a difference," added Hagerstrom. "Joe understands the dire economic condition Michigan finds itself in and his message is even more relevant today than it was last fall."

Americans for Prosperity - Michigan is working in alliance with the New Patriot Revolution, Michigan FairTax, the Michigan Taxpayer's Alliance and the Wayne County Taxpayers Association.

...If I pimp this at Free Republic!

Good thing I still have my minivan.  I need the space in order to transport my tax protest idea.

    Great job people.

Regreatably, I will not be able to attend in Lansing.

BTW, Any word on the status of him running against Kaptur?

I'll pop in to one of the local rallies, time permitting.
