Its spring 2009 which means Election Day 2010 is practically right around the corner. This cycle in Michigan just about everything is up for grabs. 110 seats in the House, 38 seats in the Senate, the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, two Supreme Court Justices and heaven knows what kinds of ballot initiatives will be before Michigan voters when they head to the polls next year

Primary races are already beginning to shape up and take form across the state.

Few will be as closely watched as the race for Attorney General and we'll be doing our best to bring the candidates directly to you!

Former Congressman and Court of Appeals Judge Bill Schuette has been traveling the state and making public appearances and will officially announce his bid for the office shortly.

This weekend I had a chance to catch up with Judge Schuette and discuss the Attorney General's race and his candidacy.

A transcript would have been great (none / 0) (#1)

for those of us with G3/400 Powerbooks running Firefox.  The old Lappy was unhappy, but I toughed it out.  Of course, actually seeing a candidate speak does have value in itself, by showing how well he communicates.

He seems like a perfectly acceptable candidate.  Nothing much to dislike there.  I'll have to see who else ends up running and how they compare, but I could happily vote for Schuette in the general election.

Is there anyone else on the Republican primary ticket yet, or is Schuette alone thus far?

Does he have his own web site somewhere? This man sounds amazing. Just what Michigan needs. Very articulate, sounds intelligent, and is not afraid to say how he feels on any subject. Maybe he should be running for Governor.

Linking this interview to my website shortly.

Great interview with Schuette (none / 0) (#4)

Another great job Nick!  I can't think of any other questions I would have asked him except for which football team he favors.  That would have challenged him the most.  He may have been doing quick calculations on that one.

    Senate Majority Leader (none / 0) (#5)

With all those seats up for grabs I think one race that won't get a lot of press but that should be interesting is Richardville & Kahn vying for Senate Majority Leader. Who will get it or, gasp, might it end up in the hands of a freshman dem?

    Nick,

Great Work. I hope that you will be interviewing the other AG candidates.
