    Why Fight for Liberty?

    Here is why I fight:

There are moments in a person's life when the weight of the sacrifice for freedom is almost unbearable. For me, it was on a cold October night in 2004 as I stood and watched my husband board a bus that would lead him to Iraq where he would earn the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

Then it was standing beside the flag-draped coffin of one of my husband's soldiers as TAPS played in the background.  While he and thousands of others have fought to protect our liberty abroad, it is our job to defend it here at home.

Liberty and free markets are both necessary to preserve freedom.  The fall of the Roman Empire has taught us that a country can fall not only at the hands of a foreign enemy, but at the hands of its own citizens who let liberty slip through their fingers willingly.

America is worth fighting for.  For those who have fought and died before me, and for my posterity, I will fight for liberty and free markets. Because like so many liberals who believe that socialism is an acceptable form of government, I once was blind; but now I see.

Do you think America is worth fighting for?  What would you give up to restore this great nation to its founding principles?  What would your risk?
