Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

Rick Snyder will lose primary in '14

Like most conservatives, I didn't support Rick Snyder in the August GOP primary. Unfortunately, the conservatives spilt the vote and Snyder was elected.

Come last week's election, I voted for him because he was better than the alternative. But I'm regretting my vote with today's news that the architect of the 2007 tax increase (the largest in Michigan history) is being appointed to watch over our tax dollars.

    more below the fold

Seriously. Andy Dillon, the supposedly conservative Democrat who was rejected by his own party, will be the next treasurer of Michigan. I really don't know why Snyder would pick the outgoing Democrat speaker to be in his cabinet, especially in such a high profile position as state treasurer.

Surely, Snyder could have found a Democrat more sensible than Dillon. Someone like a Joel Sheltrown or Andy Neumann would have much more palatable to conservative Republicans than Dillon. Heck, Snyder might as well name outgoing Lt. Gov. John Cherry or even the governor, Jennifer Granholm, to his team. They would be just as bad as Dillon in the eyes of most real conservatives.

I'm also sick and tired of reading mainstream media call Dillon a conservative. What exactly makes him a conservative? He opposes workplace choice (right-to-work), he supports the big government, big spending policies of Granholm and Obama, and he's for universal government-run health care.

If Snyder continues this whole Republican-in-name-only approach to governing, he'll surely lose the primary to a real conservative in 2014.

    I would've gone with someone like... (none / 0) (#1)

...David Littmann over Joel Sheltrown or Andy Neumann.

I'm also waiting for the inevitable chorus of defenders supporting this decision because Snyder has  "-r" after his name, and Heaven forbid, we can't criticize someone with that pedigree!

    Yep, Rick Milliken... (none / 0) (#3)

...and that is precisely why I did not vote for him.

It truly was choosing between the Giant Douche or the Turd Sandwich.

I chose neither.  Even with holding my nose I couldn't vote for Rick Milliken.  And now Bing is sucking up?  Disgusting.

When the City of Detroit actually gets its house in order, I might be willing to negotiate with them.  Til then... fug 'em.

I voted for Ken Proctor - Libertarian candidate for Governor.

So, when are you guys finally going to catch on that the GOP is a sinking ship?

Vote Libertarian 2012 AND 2014 (and beyond).
