Denial Is Not Just A River In Egypt: MLive Columnist Calls Democrat Gary Peters A Moderate

    Via MLive:

Peters defeated incumbent Joe Knollenberg in 2008 to win the seat, earning 54 percent of the vote in what has traditionally been a Republican stronghold. While he's been called one of the most moderate members in Congress, Raczkowski has been attempting to link him with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi because of his vote health care legislation.

Don't forget the failed stimulus and cap and trade...

Only in the liberal media world, can a Democrat Congressman and vote in favor of the entire disastrous Obama, Reid and Pelosi agenda and be called a one of the most `moderate' members of Congress.

    There's nothing moderate about him.

    Peters is a moderate Democrat (none / 0) (#2)

Peters supports most items in the mainstream Democratic agenda, with notable exceptions in military spending and policy. He certainly isn't an Independent, but he's not part of the leftist fringe either. Based on ratings by the National Journal, Peters is more liberal than 56% of members of Congress, which would put him somewhere in the realm of being the 65th most conservative Democrat in Congress.

You should keep in mind that a significant portion of the Democratic party doesn't believe that Obama is liberal enough. While he is certainly farther to the left than any President in the last 30 years, he is pretty much par for the course for the Democratic Party.

From the govtrack.us (possible giving us some clues as to the MLive post on Peters?):  "Schauer is a moderate Democrat  according to GovTrack's own analysis of bill sponsorship."
