    A request.

Kevin did a bang up job on the lead up to the convention.  The interviews, reporting, and follow up with the results of the entire affair gave readers of Rightmichigan a great view into the window of the Michigan Republican workings and who will be advancing the cause going forward. Thanks again KRH!

Analysis by others during this, has also helped to parse through the likely direction we will be headed going into the 2012 cycle.  The comments we see here are an invaluable tool for getting to the truth of any situation.  The more input, the more likely we find that truth.  Commentary, as I have said before, is often more entertaining and informative than the article which spawns it.

Frankly its amazing how often some folks will post wonderfully enlightening commentary, yet have no desire to create a blog posting of their own.  RightMichigan commentary often demonstrates this.  No where else is the Michigan right thinking, conservative, truth seeking more active.

I want to keep it (the truth seeking part) that way..  So..  we go below the line

Look.. you guys are the best.

This is like a perpetual home run derby.  Most often I'll throw out a soft one, and you guys spice it up with some great hits.  I gotta tell you, I have seen some out of the park slams, with well reasoned responses, including links, and side reporting (follow up blogs) that you can't find anywhere else.  You know your stuff, you have opinions that have come from logical arguments and experience, and you aren't afraid to explain.

    Right?

I am trying a couple different things going forward.  First, I am making a daily post on MTTM with copied over information from our state website on recent legislative attempts, and THEN, trying to offer a little insight and challenge to that content.

We can too easily look at the Republican majority in our state legislature, and assume that our (conservative) wishes will be met with like minded lawmaking efforts.  Certainly those who campaigned as right minded limited government types, would carry their campaign postures into the same legislative type of activity when in Lansing, right? So this allows us to back off, and let what happens in Lansing happen without a worry...  just kick back and live life, cause "we won."

    Not.

We now need to step up to the challenge of facing down 'our own' in Lansing, when they step away form those principles that were so near and dear to their hearts during the selection times.  Not to repeatedly 'Vett' them, but rather to be the conscience and HELP them realize the successes through proper governance.  To hold them to their own principles, when the temptation to go astray is induced by competing influences for preferential treatment in Lansing.

My hope is that the efforts at presenting the daily legislative record will not simply be a copy of the same information presented by the state website, but will be a starting point to new conversations here.  To that end, there will likely be more postings of highlights to an extent not seen before.  These will include the challenges to Republicans as well as Democrats to explain themselves.

    The request?

Can you bring these questions to your lawmakers?  Can you challenge those in your district, and respectfully hold them to their words?  Can we dissect these things in a timely enough manner to prepare a thoughtful LOGICAL response so that our representatives don't shoot themselves in the foot?

Yeah..  I thought so.  Never doubted it for a minute.

...and it certainly is worthy of giving it a whirl.  I can go along with what you're proposing with a "coaching and counseling" of our elected to keep them on the proper course to a point.  Perhaps, that's just the mamby pamby world we've evolved into of "feelings" and "equal outcomes".  So be it, as long as the GOP that was sent to DC and Lansing do what the hell they were sent to do, which was to undo what the commie, EnviroTard, Social Justice Dimocrats have done to this state and nation.  But, I'll be perfectly honest, I've never been one to require much ego stroking so, I prolly come off on here as more critical on issues and the elected than that of others that comment here.  Too bad.  I'm going to treat this administration with the same respect that I treated Granholm's when they act the same.  I'm tired of paying for their political class lifestyle from the time they get elected into office to their after political class life's as they return to Lansing and DC in their resurrected lobbyist and consulting jobs.  When it comes down to it, it, Lansing and DC, is little more than a Black Flag Roach Motel parody.  Congresscritters check in... but they don't check out.

I'd also argue that most of the folks that ran for office last year weren't vetted worth a damn and that is still a core problem we are dealing with today.  I mean it wasn't until discussing the power-brokers of the Senate that it was discovered that Calley, Nofs, Proos are all in bed together in the Richardville campaign fund.  Then there's the whole Richardville and his SEIU buddy thing?  Oh, and let's not forget Nofs and his collective bargaining SEIU buds.  No fuggin' wonder the mouthpiece of the Senate is poo-pooing any Right-To-Work legislation along with the Governerd administration.  Talk about a repugnant circle jerk?  Fuggin' disgusting.

Equally disgusting?  Howza 'bout this from Crain's:

Lt. Gov. Brian Calley, who had a tea party candidate run against him at the August convention, tried to make a joke of it Saturday.

"There isn't anybody else running for lieutenant governor, is there?" he quipped during remarks to the more than 3,000 delegates and alternates.

Oh boy!  That's a real knee slapper right there I tell yah.  I guess the smarmy little self-entitlement seeking creep hasn't figured out that him and his boss's administration are on probation with the Conservative folk in this state, of which, the MI-GOP McRINO loving Chair Weiser, totally screwed over last August.

Mark my words.  There will be a much needed, waaaaaay long overdue coming to Jesus moment for the MI-GOP and their chosen politicians if they continue to slight the TEA Party movement Conservative folk in this state.  It'll happen to the Republicans that were sent to DC if they f#@% up there too.  None of them were sent to Washington or Lansing to attempt making silk purses out of failed Dimocrat sow's ears.

Posting their votes is necessary as well as more intense vetting before they even have a chance to run the ball up the middle in typical U of M fashion.  That would be, when they had a football team.
