Of Course Big Labor Has Michigan GOP Friends

The politico has a list that reveals only one of the top ten GOP recipients of labor largess to be our very own Ms Miller. Explained is that only 13% of labor's political cash influx goes to Republicans, it should still be noted over $50k is significant, and influential:
Overall this cycle, about 13 percent of labor groups' political action committee contributions -- just over $2 million -- have gone toward GOP candidates, according to data compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics. That's still dwarfed by the nearly $14 million in union cash that's gone to Democrats this cycle, but the GOP appears to be gaining ground with union donors after receiving only 6 percent of total contributions in 2010 and 8 percent in the 2008 cycle.

They know they better spark off the RINO contingent.

Someone needs to have their backs as the suffocating grip of reality threatens their very existence.  Government-Union partnerships are soon to be a thing of the past, and the country will be better off for it.

Also, as each of the traditionally safe Democrat seats become threatened even more, labor has a few buck left over with each cycle, and while the "big O" refuses to help with the pipeline thing to satisfy his ecologically nutty friends, they may not wish to give him their boost.  For now anyhow. I guess labor needs to show its own bipartisanship.

    Right.

No, we shouldn't be surprised at this list containing at least ONE of Michigan's representatives hitting the teat of the big L. There are others just down the list, but shining the light on Candy M right now simply drives home how close some are to the dark side.

KG, you up for that fight?

    Am I up for it? (none / 0) (#1)

As I mentioned earlier, I've been speaking to family and friends regarding this. The response I've gotten so far has been from ambivalent (they feel that Washington is too broken for anyone to fix), to supportive knowing what a political junkie I am.

I've also mentioned earlier that if I'm ever going to do this, it isn't going to be a piecemeal effort. It'll be throttle wide open, full bore, get the hell out of my way effort. The way the district has been redrawn is also a plus.

But if it's not readily apparent, I've had some issues creep up on the home-front recently that have kept me busy and away from home more as of late. This may sound strange, but to my employer's credit, they've been very helpful and accommodating in that area.

Bottom line: THAT is what's holding up a final decision on this matter. I'll need to take care of those issues first before anything else here.
