    Ford Foundation sends Bing to summon $90bil Hurricane to Save Detroit

    Detroit-- Mayor Dave Bing, working on plans to reshape Detroit neighborhoods, was getting a walking tour of New Orleans to observe how that city is recovering more than five years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast. Bing and other members of his administration were meeting today with New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Bing spokeswoman Karen Dumas told The Associated Press. They were in New Orleans to see relocation efforts, blight reduction and land-use strategies.

    "There are a lot of similarities to Detroit in terms of energy ... post-Katrina issues they are experiencing we also are experiencing," Dumas said. "We also are here to learn what they would have liked to have done differently."

    Similarities?

    Note to Mayor Bing and Governor Snyder:

    The City of Detroit is a $6.1 billion dollar indebted Man-Made Disaster of decades of corrupt politicians, schools, employees, unions and organized welfare.  New Orleans was not.  Merely consolidating the Man-Made Disaster in Michigan will not cure its ills.  Fer chrissake Mayor Bing, you're even using millions in taxpayers dollars to bribe Detroits' Police to contemplate living in your city.  The handwriting has been on the wall, Mayor Bing.  Money is not Detroit's cure, Lord knows, billions have already been p!ssed away on it.  It's Detroits' culture that must change.

    Governor Snyder, you speak much of "Reinventing Michigan".  Here's your golden opportunity to seal the deal on a second term.  Take down the bird-feeder of taxpayer money for the albatross City of Detroit that only seeks to heighten itself to returning to the bird-feeder again, and then crapping on those of us forced into feeding it.

    Detroit is looking to New Orleans as a model???  You have got to be effin kidding me.  New Orleans was a sh!t hole BEFORE Detroit was!!!  Liberal Democrats just don't get it.  More of the same is never going to change the CULTURE of corruption and entitlement.

    Both cities have been led poorly by entrenched democratic political family dynasties.

    Both cities have massive numbers of residents who have been properly acclimated to live off of government largess.

    Both cities have racist mayors (remember "Chocolate City"?).

    I'm at a total loss as to what the Ford Foundation was thinking. New Orleans isn't getting any better by any stretch of the imagination.

    You want to see the only thing that is shaping up to be successful in Detroit?

    It's about 50% there already.

    Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will instantly feel the pain of those poor disenfranchised Detroiters and move their brood to the Motor City so they can get a proper, quality liberal education AND take advantage of the great film credits available for the taking.

    They were so enthralled with New Orleans and the "rich" history of the region I would think that Detroit would be as enticing.
