UAW employees getting drunk and high on their lunch break. In other news, the sky is blue.

Does this even qualify as news anymore? Yes it does. These embarrassing incidents - and make no mistake, this is how the rest of the country views Michigan and the domestic auto industry - underscore the need for Right to Work laws. What manufacturer wants to come into a state where they will be immediately unionized by a union that protects workers' rights to drink and smoke dope right under their noses (literally under their noses, in the Local UAW's parking lot)? These incidents are literally costing Michigan jobs. When is someone going to step up and put an end to this madness? When is our governor going to get serious about Michigan job creation and support Freedom to Work?

The time is now. These incidents were reported because people - presumably unionized employees - were fed up with having to work with stoned co-workers. That indicates that there is some dissatisfaction within the ranks. We need to keep that momentum going. Write your local representatives. Write your Congressman, Senator, Governor...donate to the Freedom to Work movement. Right to Work starts NOW.

While standing in front of a window facing the lot, UAW VP says they cannot see the lot from their building.

    Whohuhwhat?

Even if they weren't near a window (highly doubtful), a UAW Local without cameras monitoring their parking lots.

    Wow.

Another thing that bears pointing out is that guy in the safety vest. Based on my experience at other Chrysler Plants, those are only worn by yard jockeys and hi-lo drivers.

I doubt that he's part of Chrysler Transport because he's driving a car, so that leaves loading dock.

Watching them drive off the end an of an open loading dock is hilarious (at GM Lordstown assembly they did it twice in one week), but righting a 4,000# piece of equipment to take the sauced up driver in to get checked out and the eventual workers comp claims against the company doesn't help their bottom line much.
