I Figured it would be appropriate to highlight Governor granholm's Snyder's sales tax push.

All I could find is this old video of Him Her.. uhh.

Michigan Chamber of Commerce, and... (none / 0) (#1)

...Michigan Association of Realtors, shat upon Governerd's Granmole's sales tax hike.

To date, Richard Studley has stated that a Sales Tax Hike is the Wrong Road.

Now, will Richard Studley roll over, or fight against the new shakedown scheme being pushed by Bolger-gate for a 1 Penny pRick Plan with an included 74% tax increase on gasoline & 120% tax increase on diesel?

The repealed sales tax on fuel would then be replaced with a higher gas tax "that wouldn't impact the price at the pump," said House Speaker Jase Bolger, R-Marshall.

It has to be an act.  NOBODY can possibly be that stupid to believe anyone would buy that crap.

Notice there is zero talk of repealing Prevailing Wage.

    The Service Tax (none / 0) (#2)

was a dumb idea when it was first proposed and it is a dumb idea now.  It will add bureaucracy and foster all manner of cash only business... and do nothing for Michigan's overall economy.

Why make it more difficult to do business in Michigan?

Come on, Guv.  Let's be a little more creative.  Maybe some of those abandoned Detroit neighborhoods could be used as Apocalypse sets for movies or training grounds in urban warfare for Marines. Maybe they could become tourist attractions by selling fright tours. Certainly you can come up with something better than charging tax for cutting lawns.

Instead of a tax increase why don't these people start using the gas tax money we send them to fix our roads and bridges?
Instead of buying electronic signs for over $177,093.50 each that tell drivers how far and how much time it takes to get somewhere use that money to fix the highways.
Instead of throwing 10's of millions of dollars of our federal gas tax dollars at hi-speed rail and busing use that money to fix our roads and bridges.
Instead of putting in bicycle paths and sidewalks we haven't needed in in a hundred years why feel the need to build them now when we can't afford them.  Use that money to fix the roads!
We don't need a fuel tax hike we need to start spending the gas tax money we paid for road repairs on repairing our roads!

Is it just me, of does the tonality of our evil Mr. Rodgers of a governor speaking, sound just like Hurricane Jenny's does when it comes to proposing new ways to steal from us?

    Just an observation...
