    Dearborn Apologizes To Christians

The city of Dearborn Michigan violated the rights of Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, David Wood, and Paul Rezkalla, in June of 2010.

They were briefly jailed for 'breach of peace' (Being Christian in Dearborn)and found not guilty afterwards. The American Freedom Law Center filed a civil suit after a trial where the Christians were actually criminally tried. After the five day trial, the Christians were acquitted by a unanimous jury verdict.  Following the acquittals, fellow AFLC Co-Founder and Senior Counsel David Yerushalmi and Muise filed a 100-page, civil rights lawsuit against the City, its mayor, John B. O'Reilly, its chief of police, Ronald Haddad, 17 City police officers, and two executives from the American Arab Chamber of Commerce on behalf Qureshi, Wood, and Rezkalla.  The lawsuit was later amended to add the Arab Chamber as a defendant.  The civil rights complaint alleged that the Christians' constitutional rights were egregiously violated during the Arab festival.

The Christians' case was victorious. The city of Dearborn issued an apology; part of which reads:

"The  City of Dearborn regrets and apologizes for the decisions to arrest and prosecute David Wood, Nabeel Qureshi, and Paul Rezkalla and the hardship  caused to everyone involved."
Which was both sought and welcomed. While still seeing official's tightly crossing fingers behind their backs.

Michigan State Rep Tom McMillin Stood firm with the Christians from the start, calling for an immediate public apology from the mayor and police chief for their willingness to stand idly by while the rights of US citizens were violated.  He issued a statement following the ruling:

"It has been an honor to stand with these Christians who were  persecuted by the City of Dearborn and am glad to see that Dearborn has apologized and hope the confidential settlement amount is huge and outrages the city's taxpayers.  The persecution of Christians, for simply wanting to exercise free speech, must end in Dearborn.  Unless the city of Dearborn plans to secede from the Union, it better be willing to follow the Constitutions of both the United States and the State of Michigan."
    True enough Tom.

The Arab Chamber and its executive director, Fay Beydoun, still face a challenge for their part in the civil rights violation and are expected to face a similar outcome.

Mc Donald's had to pay some Islamic terrorists a huge amount of money because McDs allegedly didn't serve the people who wipe with their left hand halal chicken. No damages for the Christians who got roughed up by the terrorists at the festival. Where's the justice?

Bravo, Rep. McMillin! A stand up dude. (none / 0) (#2)

I reckon this now means that Mayor Puddingpants days are numbered in Little Ramallah.  Usama Sibliani's pawn is no longer the effective Useful Idiot dhimmi (Jack was a Dingell staffer) for creeping sharia in Michigan.

Yup.  And, it takes a long time to control the people.

The arab camber will seek out one of their own Team D muhammadans for mayor.  Bank on it.
