Back when you ruled Ann Arbor, independently wealthy, politically uninterested and, despite being retired, not having any time for the foolishness of politicians in either party?

Remember sitting in the sun room, sipping your tea and reading the Ann Arbor News every morning with the wife?

Remember when you said that the damned government is the problem, that they follow bad policies with more of the same- as the solution to the new problem they created as a result of trying to fix the old problem?

And the wife, being your biggest supporter, shook her head in agreement, until one day she had enough of the grumbling and told you to either stop the madness and fix it, or stop the belly aching and just shut up about it.

And by golly, you did it. For the first couple of years in office, you did a remarkable job of stopping the madness, the partisan politics and pointing fingers- for a couple years.

But that was then, and this is now.

Now, the transformation of a man who disliked politicians and their approach to a problem is nearly complete.

Instead of stopping the perpetual abuse of power, the life-defying choke hold of governments big and small, and the suffocating weight of an additional $5 BILLION of state spending over and above Jenny's last budget- you not only became a cheerleader for the horror show "Tyrants Gone Wild", you've actually stolen the show and taken on the lead role.

In your opening comments during the Medicaid Expansion hissy fit, you boldly discarded the last vestiges of Rick Snyder, proud troubleshooter and apolitical Top Gun of the Executive Branch.

To the horror of past friends, colleagues and the taxpayers of Michigan, you promoted the concept of doing something- even if it's wrong.

You openly admitted the healthcare industry's handcrafted Medicaid porkfest may not be the best or right solution, but by golly, we're not going to just sit around and think about producing the right solution. Nope, we need to take a vote, not a vacation. And luckily for you, the Senate GOP Caucus covered your confused ass by refusing to vote to kill the bill with their 20 confirmed no votes in hand.

Rick, had you made such a statement as the CEO of any, ANY, large corporation, you can rest assured the board of directors would be quietly putting together a search committee.

You know that- remember?

Remember all the fresh talk about the state is the company and the taxpayers and citizens are the customers? And who is always right? Us customers. Remember, Governor?

After 15 solid years of recession, depression, mass exodus and financial devastation, the Golden Goose is in triage and all of our money trees have long since died from the government-induced drought. So what's a another trillion piled on, eh Governor? Besides, it's not us paying the price for another boondoggle, it's the Feds. So what's the big deal, eh Governor?

However, we still have our children, and we'll defend their futures from the likes of you and anybody else attempting to sell them into slavery, and we will speak up when the Emperor has no clothes.

And believe me, Governor- you're butt naked, and from where I'm standing........

You sir, are not the same man we elected to right the ship. And unequivocally, you are now a part of the problem you so desperately wanted to fix.
