  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Last year during the run of my talk radio show, I came very close to scoring an interview with Barack Obama. I was able to contact a high ranking member of his campaign who said, "There was a good possibility." I don't know what happened, perhaps they learned I was a conservative, maybe he was too busy. While I was waiting for that follow-up call, I prepared 3 questions:

The first question was: Tell us two things you don't like about your wife.

Bill O'Reilly's new column this week analyzes why the left-wing media has been taking a hit in light of President Obama's recent troubles with the economy.  Since you wouldn't normally have a chance to read this in your local paper (unless you live in Alpena, Escanaba, Marquette, or Mount Clemons), I thought I'd cross-post it here.  Bill does a great job of explaining why traditional newspaper and broadcast television outlets are struggling, and why places like RightMichigan are doing well.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Obama talks fiscal responsibility, but delivers a $1.75 trillion dollar defecit budget

(Normally, I don't crosspost national stuff, but this one is just that bad)

I've come to understand that whenever Obama promises something, it is time to expect the opposite. Nowhere is that more apparent than when it comes to fiscal responsibility. This budget does not deliver whatsoever when it comes to that. I knew it was a joke when he talked about slashing the deficit in half in four years. That's unacceptable. It needs to be balanced. Period. This is going in the opposite direction.

    From the AP

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is sending Congress a "hard choices" budget that would boost taxes on the wealthy and curtail Medicare payments to insurance companies and hospitals to make way for a $634 billion down payment on universal health care.

Obama's first budget, which will top $3 trillion, predicts the deficit for this year will soar to a whopping $1.75 trillion, according to administration officials who spoke on condition of anonymity before the public unveiling of the budget Thursday. The huge deficit reflects the massive spending being undertaken to battle a severe recession and the worst financial crisis in seven decades.

As part of the effort to end the financial crisis, the administration will propose boosting the deficit by an additional $250 billion this year, enough to support as much as $750 billion in increased spending under the government's financial rescue program. That would more than double the $700 billion bailout effort passed by Congress last October.

    and

    "Born Alive Truth"

Our President can't either, "But bringing other doctor in, is designed to burden the original decision to induce labor and perform an abortion" from the IL State Senate.
