  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Radical Leftist From DPS To Indoctrinate MSU Students

By golly, folks have a right to their opinions, but THIS is some straight up hyperbole:

Yeah, because we ought not really have any borders, and those border patrol agents just want to hang Latinos and burn crosses on their lawns. DEFINITELY NOT coffee ready pals!

I will let you folks make the connection as to whether she is a positive force or not in our state. She certainly must have SOME influence however, being a DPS school board member and all.  And she is using that position to spread her love:

"Elena Herrada, a Detroit Public Schools board member from District 2, will give a talk titled "Detroit Public School Board Member in Exile" 2:30-3:45 pm April 24 in Room 134 S. Kedzie Hall. A reception in the CLS Office in Room 200 S. Kedzie will be held immediately following the talk."
Obviously it will be centered on her trials and tribulations as a 'marked' school board member; one that will likely be openly complaining about Detroit's emergency manager, and his crushing blows aimed at minorities.

We've never seen this play before, have we?

Rule of Law - Yes, We Really Do Mean It!

Perhaps the current Rule of Law majority on the Michigan Supreme Court should have this saying etched into the side of the Hall of Justice in Lansing.

The GOP convention was this past weekend, and as several news agencies have reported, the anger with the GOP-majority Justices of the Michigan Supreme Court was palpable.  In a particularly detailed account, MIRS (subscription required) reported that the Justices "faced a frosty reception," although that characterization may be a bit of an understatement.  MIRS went on to report that if there had been more time before the convention, it is likely that Justices Markman and Zahra would have faced challenges to their seats, and that "some donors have asked for their money back from the Supreme Court race."  Former MRP executive director Greg McNeilly stated that he believes the Justices "made a political decision," and when asked what resources would be left for the GOP's Supreme Court candidates, McNeilly is quoted as responding "F--k them."  And this is just what was said publicly; "Most Republican powerbrokers didn't want to air their frustration publicly, but heated words privately, however, have been exchanged."
