  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    via Central Michigan Life

Central Michigan University police is investigating an attempted abduction at gunpoint Wednesday night outside the Student Activity Center.

According to an alert sent out to the campus community at approximately 12:20 a.m. Thursday, a female was approached at gunpoint at approximately 9:30 p.m. by a male suspect in the parking lot of the SAC, a popular workout facility connected to the CMU Events Center off Broomfield Road.

The alleged suspect, described as a white male between 20 and 30 years old, 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds with short blonde hair, then kidnapped the victim and her vehicle, a blue 2003 Ford Escape with Michigan registration "CNN9599."

The victim eventually escaped from the suspect, but he took off south in the her vehicle.

Obviously, the Governerd just needs to raise revenue for more signage.

    Our tax dollars at work...

LANSING, Mich. - Secretary of State Ruth Johnson reminds residents that all SUPER!Centers as well as select PLUS and traditional offices will remain open on Election Day for customers who must conduct urgent business on that day.

Most state government offices will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 6, because of a 2004 agreement with labor unions made by the administration of then Gov. Jennifer Granholm that makes Election Day a state employee holiday. However, Johnson is keeping several offices open with minimal staffing.

    Rest

These overcompensated slugs need a whole paid day off to vote Democrat?  WTF?

YES on Prop 5 & 6 - NO on everything else!
