  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

Return Your Seat Back and Tray Table to their Upright Position

    Political Agenda with Danian Michael

If you have flown before, this analogy will resonate. At the beginning of every flight as the plane is taxiing away from the gate, the flight attendants jump into action and regiment a set of procedures that we all could probably recite right now.  First they tell us to, "Return your seat back and tray tables to their upright position." Then they tell us what to do if there is a crash landing on water (they never tell us what to do if it crashes into a mountain; however, I wonder why).  At some later time in the presentation we are told what to do if we are to lose cabin pressure; pull the oxygen mask towards you and place it over your nose.  If you have kids or if there is a young child next to you (which gets to the point of my analogy), first place the oxygen mask over the child's nose then tend to your own needs. Am I right about that? Those of you who are frequent flyers are saying right now, "Actually Danian, you are wrong about that; first the adult puts the oxygen mask on and then attends to the child." If you noticed my dyslexia in reversing who gets the oxygen mask first in the adult-child scenario; my hats off to you, because you may be the only person actually paying attention (we all should be) in the whole flying community.

Left's "Discovery" is a Big "So What?"

~Cross Posted at Michigan Taxes Too Much~

Democrats hoping to turn a recent "discovery" by a maid after a Republican gathering into gold for their party might want to settle down and think about some other things politic.  Excitement over a presentation to Republican leadership should fade fast when put to contrast with Democrat collusion efforts, cover ups and open deceit.  Politico reports:

"The Republican National Committee plans to raise money this election cycle through an aggressive campaign capitalizing on "fear" of President Barack Obama and a promise to "save the country from trending toward socialism."

The strategy was detailed in a confidential party fundraising presentation, obtained by POLITICO, which also outlines how "ego-driven" wealthy donors can be tapped with offers of access and "tchochkes."

Politico's piece has sparked a number of lefty blogs, who are looking for anything they can find to turn attention away from the FAIL Obama policies and the current debate on the monstrous government health care takeover.  Using a paltry 2 pages from the presentation found,  Democrats have begun to rail on Republican efforts to milk the rich donors based on the fears of this country turning to socialism etc.. But at the same time ignoring that many donors were AT THE RETREAT where the presentation was made.
