    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

The Democrats love "the poor" so much that their policies create more of them duped into a lifestyle of government indenture.  As you see, even trinkets now buy folks freedom for only the price of their vote.

    Elections have consequences.

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

Throw More Money at the Problem says the Fat State Senator

Dr. Kahn, please don't point your belt buckle at us: it may go off.

    via mLIVE

Michigan Sen. Roger N. Kahn, chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and a Saginaw Township Republican, and retired U.S. Air Force Major Generals Thomas Cutler and William Henderson called for $140 million increase in early education.

"It's critical to our nation's long-term security," Kahn said.

"The Department of Defense estimates that 75 percent of young Americans are unable to serve in the military for three primary reasons: They have not graduated from high school, they are physically unfit, or they have a criminal record," Henderson said.

"Because Michigan's problems with weight are similar to the national average and the state's problems with education are worse than the national average, it is likely that at least three out of four young adults in Michigan cannot join the military."

    More

Typical.  Government creates the mollycoddling "safety net" of EBT Cards, Food stamps, Free lunch programs, NCLB, SSI disabilities, and criminalizing everything under the sun so the elected class can say they're "tough on crime," then government wants to blow more coerced tax dollars because they now allegedly have a solution for the problem.

Throw another $140 million at "the problem" in the name of national security?  Sure, that'll work just like sending the billions in aid to Egypt, and Pakistan.  Frilliant.
