    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Obama's Stunning Victory!

Obama 's Hope and Change campaign promise has been a stunning success.  He has given hope to the millions who live off the taxpayer promising them more Obamabucks than they ever dreamed.  He has changed the mood of the taxpayer from 'Taxed Enough Already' to 'Tamed Establishment Apathy'.  With the unconstitutional passage of Obamacare, We the People stood up and cried:  "Taxed Enough Already", "You can keep your hope, and I will keep my Change" and "Hands of my Healthcare".  It is now two years later and not only have many gone silent, some who I believed were on the side of liberty are actively working against liberty and free market reforms.

Joined by a large group of enthusiastic supporters at her home in Dearborn, Karen Jacobsen  announced her campaign for Michigan's new 12th Congressional District against John Dingell.

"As a mother, I am concerned about my daughter's future, and the future of her generation. As an Accountant and Business Owner, I am concerned about the future of our economy. I can no longer sit on the sidelines and just watch."

"Voters have a clear choice. If you believe our government is too big, that deficit spending is out of control and that career politicians no longer work for us, then I ask for your support. Our window of opportunity to reverse the course of this country is at a crisis point. If unchecked, Washington will continue to spend, borrow, tax, and print worthless pieces of paper. We have to stop this. I am running for Congress to tackle the most difficult problems facing our country. My campaign is about arming the people of Michigan with new information, new ideas and offering them the opportunity to elect a real advocate who will represent them in Washington."

To be exact, for Socialized Medicine to "control the people" it legislatively took the Dingell Dynasty from 1943 to March 23, 2010 to be accomplished.

Remember 2010 folks, John and Debbie Dingell directly profited from the Auto Bailout...

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

It prolly won't be all that far down the road I'll be able to say those very words if America continues on the path of following Jolly 'ol England's lead with our health care.  Just two days ago it was reported that their cash strapped National Health Services has proposed vast improvements to expedite their 18 week treatment process figures.

Smokers and overweight patients in need of major operations could be thrown off hospital waiting lists under "desperate" cost-cutting plans.

Oh?  I already know that smokers are eeevil, at least that's what the drones tell me, but, what's the skinny on who's considered fat?

Dems' health care scheme expensive, inefficient, say local doctors and Free Market advocates

Consumer driven health care isn't only better for your health, it's better for your pocketbook, too.  That was the message delivered by a coalition of doctors and free market advocates who Wednesday convened in Grand Rapids a roundtable discussion about "the Future of Health care in America."  The event was sponsored by Consumers for Health Care Choices, the Heartland Institute, Americans for Prosperity and the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

According to Dr. Mark O'Brien, the status quo represents a true "us versus them" battle pitting responsible doctors and their patients against "big business, big government, big hospitals, big insurance companies and the big media."

Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements give health care consumers more control over how much is spent on their health care and how it is provided.  That is in stark contrast with the current system where insurance companies and government providers often make the calls.

Medicare's current unfunded liability stands at $38 trillion, ore more than $335,000 per American household.  More frightening, the Heartland Institute reports it is anticipated that Medicare will consume half the federal budget by the year 2035.  Individual and corporate income tax rates would have to rise by 90 percent to finance projected Medicare costs through 2050.

The biggest reason?  Neither the consumer nor the supplier pay any attention to the price.
