  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

And Because He Showed Up Here

The NPV troll brought me to a site that explained more succinctly the dangers of the NVP.  The canard of NVP being non partisan is absurd at its base.

The Progressive left is determined to transform our republic into a unitary state with one political party--theirs. What would that look like? Perhaps something like the social democracies of Western Europe or maybe democratic republics of the former Eastern Europe Soviet bloc. With policy being guided by radical Marxists in the current White House, the goal could be a full-blown communist utopia. Maybe they don't even know where they're headed.

The point is, we do. The Founders understood the dangers of autocratic government. They knew, because they studied Aristotle, that the people could be swayed by pleasing orators and fair-sounding lies. The fact is, We the People also need to be checked against the passions of the moment, against the false promises of the snake-oil salesman.

Those republicans who have fallen for the fairness trap need to brush up on checks and balances.

Oh yeah.. Our troll Mr "Kohler" should recognize his modus operandi :

"I received five very long rebuttals from the same untraceable ... They arrived 1 minute apart. Overwhelm the opposition: typical leftist tactic."

Dude.  Way too easy to spot.  I had you in 10 minutes. (actually 3, but I type slow)

    Be sure to read this:

GOP Gives NPV A Big Thumbs Down.

Kudos to NRC chair Reince Priebus for nipping this in the bud.

With so many things going on, its good to have someone watching our backs on things like this.
