    Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    . . . as I understand it, is intended to be used in lieu of Michigan's Republican Presidential Primary.  The reasoning is that, since the Democrats aren't going to have a primary, we don't want them contaminating ours.

    Rather than closing the August primaries, I'm much more in favor of the alternative that has been proposed, which is that in any primary (with more than two candidates for the same nomination) in which no candidate receives greater than 50% of the vote, the top two candidates face each other in a runoff election two weeks later.

    If this rule had been in place in 2010, then the GOP gubernatorial primary would have had a Snyder - Hoekstra runoff in mid-August . . . and anyone's guess as to how that would have turned out.
