Rep. Rebekah Warren on the Warpath - Pro-Abort Goes Ballistic With New Anti-Family Legislation

Well, it looks like radical pro-abortion state Rep. Rebekah Warren (D-53rd District) has finally woken-up from her year-long slumber this week by declaring war against Michigan's families.  Warren announced earlier this week that she is spearheading a package of bills that will radically change how Michigan schools educate children about abortion, contraception, and sexual practices.  See: http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080421/METRO/804210434/1409/METRO

Warren's plan will in essence mandate that all Michigan school districts implement Planned Parenthood's radical agenda, i.e. peddle abortion, contraception devices, and bizarre sexual "lifestyle" choices to impressionable children beginning in Middle School!  Under this new legislation, so-called sex education would be uniformly controlled by Lansing instead of individual school districts, as is the case now.

What's more, and in a move clearly designed to attack the most powerful Christian denomination in the state (the Roman Catholic Church), Warren's anti-family legislation would also require all health insurance plans that normally cover prescription drugs to also pay for contraception devices.

I am not sure if I am more shocked at the outright audacity of this legislation, or the fact that it is Warren who is actually "spearheading" it. Only two months ago, I wrote a RightMichigan.com column about how the former Michigan Abortion Rights Action League, or MARAL Pro-Choice Michigan, executive director had spent most of her first year in the legislature proving herself to be politically inept, especially when it came to the love of her life - no, not her husband, Washtenaw County Commissioner Conan Smith, but rather promoting abortion on demand. I guess it has finally dawned on Warren that this is an election year and that she better have something more to show to her latte-lovin' liberal Ann Arbor constituents than her "landmark" "Bo Schembechler Day" legislation, if she wants a cake-walk to re-election this November.

    Read on. . .

Or perhaps Warren's more politically ambitious and deeply radical pro-abortion mother-in-law, state Rep. Alma Wheeler Smith (D-54th District), finally told Warren she better start earning her keep as Conan's Smith wife.  That is, Warren is now a full-fledged member of what I have termed a "Michigan Axis of Evil," which centers around Alma "the Wheeler-Dealer" Smith's weirdo obsession with grooming her son to one day became Michigan's most prominent pro-abortion politician.  See: http://www.rightmichigan.com/story/2008/4/10/11622/8643

Regardless of the immediate impetus behind Warren's new legislation, it is clear that she has declared war on Michigan's families.

I really do not think, however, that Warren's package of garbage will even be passed by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives - not to mention the GOP-controlled state Senate.  But it is telling as to what Planned Parenthood and its political allies would love to engineer if they could muster the votes to do so.

In their publicity stunt earlier this week, Warren and her fellow kool-aid-drinking pro-abortion legislative co-sponsors not so subtly hinted that the timing of this legislation was no accident.  In fact, the legislation was announced the very same week that Michigan pro-life and pro-family groups have been barnstorming the House in order to get it to pass Michigan's fourth attempt to ban the grisly practice of partial-birth abortion at the state level.  On cue, Warren and friends repeated the familiar line that if legislators really cared about reducing abortion they wouldn't be "wasting" their time trying to prohibit partial-birth abortion, but rather promoting condoms and such to Middle School students.

Yeah, nice try Warren and friends, but your line of bull-crap is something rational people (with a functioning conscience) will not buy .  Partial-birth abortion, like all abortions, is a crime against humanity.  It is barbaric and simply incompatible with a civilized society.

If only Warren and her fellow abortion-rights-obsessed robots loved innocent, unborn human beings as much as they love wild animals.

Yes, you guessed it, Warren has also been legislatively active on another front this past month.  Earlier this April, Warren introduced, and Wheeler Smith co-sponsored, House Bill 5946, which will increase protections for domestic, farm, and wild animals in the State of Michigan. See: http://www.legislature.mi.gov/documents/2007-2008/billintroduced/House/pdf/2008-HIB-5946.pdf

Now, Warren and her mother-in-law are part of the same crowd who cheered as little children were arrested three years ago when they sought to bring water to Terri Schiavo, as the disabled Florida woman suffered a government-sanctioned agonizing death via dehydration.

But I guess, according to the worldview of Warren and her cohorts, the protection of animals, like cows and pigs, are somehow much more worthy of legislators' time than the protection of our own species in our most vulnerable states - disabled, like the Terri Schiavos of this world, or unborn, like the thousands who routinely face the prospect of being butchered via partial-birth abortion thanks to greedy abortionists.

This insane worldview is precisely what is driving Warren's new anti-family legislation, which is designed to promote the Culture of Death among impressionable school children - at the earliest grade level possible.  It is also the same worldview that must be relentlessly counteracted by all people of goodwill.

Are you up for the challenge?
