I had not heard for some time, until last week, a reference to "herding cats", a comment often associated with the concept of men working or not working together.
Some may think "oh this is warrantless crap; it really will not affect me". Until you go to the Children's Museum and pay a sales tax on that service, or look around and realize Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Campfire Girls, Demolay, Cadets all have a membership much less than it had a decade or two decades ago.
Fathers' issues may not seem to affect you, and yet, people in this group probably know at least one person who has said that and dismissed efforts to improve the status of Fathers, until: all of a sudden, these are issues that affect them dearly and they had been uninvolved for years.
It is not too early to get involved and it is not too early to share your thoughts, more battles loom on the horizon. It is not too early to reach out of your comfort zone or local area of influence: we need stronger coalitions to confront FY '09 and the LAL policies that will be laid in place purporting more increases are necessary.
Probably, if Right thinking people do not build stronger, larger coalitions we can do it all over again.
