Who are the NERD fund donors Mr Snyder?

    Raise the curtain.

    A year like no other

I gotta tell you all, its been a crazy year.

Personally, my family and I have suffered a few losses, and that expanded into the conservative community as well with bloggers/activists David Hinz, and Chetly Zarko.  Well, David passed in 2009, but with the new reality we own, things tend to blend, and pretty much everything from February 2009 falls into what I consider the last year.

All of the efforts that truly started in 2009 with the Santelli rant igniting the movement of the last 200 years started paying dividends this year.  Those of us who knew its effects would be incredible indeed, kept at it, writing about the strength of an awakened consciousness that the MSM pooh poohed.  The insistence of our 'fringe' and inconsequential movement, failing and as mistaken as the reports of Mark Twain's death so many years ago.

The news of THIS movement's demise was indeed greatly exaggerated.

However there were moments of doubt.

Doubt, not created by the traditional pundits who remained perpetually wrong in their assessments of the strength of the tea party activities, but rather from our internal efforts to posture those candidates we thought would best represent a worthy change.

In nowhere better as an example was the election of the 1st district, once seemingly locked forever in the grip of a supposedly conservative Democrat.  It is my opinion that friendships were tested, as the opinions of some were markedly more passionate and aggressive in their outward stances.  It is further my opinion, that friendships remain.  The results in CD1, and in so many other races were satisfactory, and keep us on track for legislative sanity.

My own respect grows for those in the conservative camp, and hope that our continued individual pursuits parallel each other in ways that move us to a return of common sense and constitutional adherence.

I have seen personal redemption as well with regard to conservative principles this year.  Persons who might have been too long satisfied with centrist policy are beginning to see the hard left for the damaging role it holds. What used to be seen as extreme positions held by those of us on the right side of the spectrum is now seen for what it is.. truth.

All the while, this year has held out in glaring examples of how the democrats, and the hard core leftist who are in power expect to keep that power.  We have seen the administration use deceit and arm twisting, along with a bit of professional bribery to advance its unrealistic goals and Marxist underpinnings.

The lies so close to home as our very own state Democrat party.

Nothing says "Michigan Democrat" like a lie slathered in prevarication butter served up in Oakland county by Brewer's punks.  never letting the law get in the way of a good liberal plot to gain or retain power is their gig.  Fortunately for Michigan, the level of conscience these folks carry with them is far eclipsed by their sheer incompetence, as the i's dotted, and t's crossed bore out a loser of an initiative, and potentially a couple Michigan Democrat activists in jail any day now.

Amazing what happens when that one group promotes mediocrity and sloth..

Indeed the year has had its share of craziness.  somehow I was roped into challenging a Republican incumbent, and I won.  How crazy is that?

One might think I would shut up a little bit now that I am an elected official.  Huh..  Probably not.  No question that being busy will make it harder for me to post as often, but it doesn't make it an absolute.

And frankly, we're just starting to have a bit of an adventure here.

Thank you! to all of those folks who comment, post or even lurk here.  I have to think that a great deal of the ongoing success Michigan conservatives have enjoyed is in large part to the people who make RightMichigan.com a regular stop.

Enjoy the evening, have a tall cool adult beverage, and be safe.

Enjoy the last few minutes of 2010 with an optimism for the future of our great state, and be ready for even more of what might have seemed previously impossible.

God Bless this Country, this state, and our community.
