    Reelecting Fred Upton is Laughable

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me! Fool the electorate for a 14th time? That's insufferable! I've heard Fred Upton's ads on talk radio and have some questions for him, obvious to me, but perhaps not to those who he's charmed, intimidated, or made-to-feel important. Since Fred and his zombies disallow anyone to question him in public, I will do it here.

The ad states that Fred's been leading the fight against Obamacare. Where's your evidence, Fred? I don't see it! Where are you on TV or the House floor raising hell about it?

The ad states that Fred's working for us on energy issues. How so, Fred? Where's your evidence? Last election, Fred's chief justification was to argue his seniority, becoming the "powerful Energy Committee Chair". However, Obama is uncontested, dismantling new development of nuclear, oil, and natural-gas energies, increasing prices and destroying job growth, including the misappropriation of our money to Obama-buddies at Solyndra, et al. Since appropriations are controlled by Congress and initiated in the Republican-controlled House, as an energy issue, I blame you, Fred! Last election, you used my slogan of "getting the government out of the way" in TV ads before the primary. Afterward, you sponsored a bill to ban Edison's luminescent light bulb and let Obama slide in thousands of regulations. How is that getting the government out of the way? When we got wise to you, you voted against your own bill! What kind of game are you playing? Who do you think you are? Who do you think we are? You're working against all of us! You're working for yourself and the green energy progressives. You're selling us to foreigners in accordance with the U.N. Agenda 21 (look it up). You're not even prohibiting windmill farms off the coast of Lake Michigan. Why are you promoting an agenda that's proven enviroscience fraud? It's wholly un-American, unconstitutional, and immoral.

The ad states that federal government now is about control (<gasp> really?), and that Fred's our best hope to fight against it, and that he's "been getting the job done." Really? Fred, you've been there for 27 years now, and you couldn't see this coming? If this is getting the job done, then you're part of it! Why did it take you 27 years to help produce the Stock Act? How much money have you made trading insider information on Whirlpool? I warned the electorate in 2010. At that time 20% of the electorate understood, and it's been growing ever since. Fred, you are bringing about tyranny in America and it must stop! You are a Progressive RINO! Now, our first duty as patriotic Americans is to vote for a God-fearing real American, Jack Hoogendyk, in the 2012 primary, thereby voting you out! We will not be fooled again!

    Need better candidates... (none / 0) (#1)

I agree Upton has to go.

Granted I'm more moderate and I think he has done an okay job over his career.

The problem in SW Michigan is that we just don't produce a good enough candidate to unseat him.

He has too much history and good will built up over his decades of serving his district. Hoogendyk is polarizing, even for Republicans in the district. They either love him or he rubs them the wrong way.

Hoogendyk has shown over his past few attempts at office that he is not a good fund raiser and it is going to take someone with a solid war chest to be able to combat Upton's media/ad blitz.

Hoogendyk can go around knocking on all the doors he wants, but it's just too high of a mountain to climb.

If he doesn't gain ground and make it a really close primary... he's just going to turn into a Right-Wing Don Cooney.... losing year after year to Upton.

I fully agree with supporting Jack Hoogendyk.  However, I have to correct one thing in your article.  Upton's light bulb ban passed in 2007, with Upton fully in support.  Last year, Upton voted for a different bill that would have repealed the light bulb ban.  It seems that he is trying to pretend that he never supported it.

Having been tossed into the little Washing Machine Kings district a few years ago hasn't been a treat for me. You call his Washington office and you will more then likely get a rude 18 year old sounding brat. Very unprofessional. You try to make a point with what Fred refers to as staff and you get laughed at, audible exhalations of breath expressing boredum or out right disgust at having to speak to a member of the electorate. I can say that over the years I have had many Congressional reps but Fred is undoubtedly the worst of the bunch. The only thing I can think of that would have been worse was to be represented by Mark Schaur. Not much worse as they both embrace a left of center world view. Arrogant and an obvious member of the elected and self-appointed elite in this country the people of the district and Michigan would be better served showing Freddy boy the door. It is time for him to go and go he shall.

Lord Frederick didn't even bother to cosponsor H.R. 2417.  On top of that, Lord Frederick had the unmitigated gall to waste my tax dollars on a frivolous vote knowing full damn well he was merely feigning the repeal of his '07 Climate Change agenda.

I just dunno anymore.  After watching his old CD-4 and now 6 send Upton to DC for a quarter of a century... y'all are looking like the dumbest MI-GOP voters to have ever shat between a pair of feet.

Maybe DC-6 will redeem itself this election with placing 'ol RINO Clan Fred in the retirement home for the Progressive mentally disabled.

    I won't hold my breath.

    But, time will tell...

This is the last time I will get to cast a vote against Upton or is it Downton in the primary. After the November election the folks in my local are heading home to the 7th CD. At least the Congress critter in that CD doesn't sound like a whiney three year old when it speaks. Fred I would like to say it has been real and it has been fun but it hasn't been real fun. Take my advice and get some of grand-dads millions in hand and head off to someplace where you don't matter. As if you do here. NOT.
