  • Your New Scoop Site

    Welcome to Scoop!

To help you figure things out, there is a Scoop Admin Guide which can hopefully answer most of your questions.

    Some tips:

    • Most of the layout is changed in "Blocks", found in the admin tools menu
    • Features can be turned on and off, and configured, in "Site Controls" in the admin tools menu
    • Stories have an "edit" link right beside the "Full Story" link on an index page, and right beside the "Post a Comment" link on the full story page. They can also be edited by clicking the story title in the "Story List" admin tool
    • Boxes are what allow you to write new features for Scoop; they require a knowledge of the perl programming language to work with effectively, although you can often make small changes without knowing much perl. If you would like a feature added but cannot program it yourself, ScoopHost does custom Scoop programming as one of its services.
    • If you aren't sure where to look for a particular feature or piece of display, try the "Search Admin Tools" link in the admin tools menu.

    Not So Fast

    Mr. Finley.

I like your work usually.  I am not often your worst critic, but you are making the same mistake as those folks who think "the middle is where it's at" have made for years. Its what has screwed this country up in the first place.  And its what was turned out in a number of primaries around the country, in a process that will continue to be done as long as we have a chance to rescue our constitution from the lefties and milquetoast RINOs.

Nolan Finley writes yesterday about Trump, Palin, Bachmann as if they are on the same wavelength. Adding in Herman Cain, he postures further, that these four are as likely to be on the Republican presidential ticket as Dennis Kucinich.

    Right.

    And then he adds:

"Meanwhile, the Republicans with a legitimate shot at the nomination and a serious message to bring are practically ignored. Trump has accrued more air time over the past two months than have former Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota, Gov. Mitch Daniels of Indiana and former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts combined."

Nolan? Repeat after me: "I have largely ignored the message by the Tea Party over the last two years, and find myself afraid to challenge the conventional wisdom as designed by my media masters."  Its true.

And you may be right that Trump will not be there. But for far different reasons that are as alien to your consideration as the square peg-round hole association of Palin, Caine, or Bachmann to Trump.

Shortly after the recent tragedy in Arizona I received a scathing email from someone close to me that brought the reality of our nation's current politic divide sharply into focus. In short, the email stated: "See Troy, I told ya so... THATS what that kind of anti-government, right wing tea-bagger rhetoric causes".

A Message To Our Legislators - Beware False Choices

There is no question that motivated conservatives, traditionalists, (whatever you want to call them) etc., who associate themselves with the still growing tea party movement, have made a difference.  Long time Democrats and Republicans both have been uprooted and thrown aside this election cycle, due to a seeming inability to control spending and abide by constitutional principle.

Tuesday marked an incredible testament to this fact with an Northern surprise.  And it also gave a glimmer of where non party weaknesses may lay.

The (at this point) win by Alaskan Joe Miller in a squeaker over a sitting US Senator in the Republican primary, would in prior years, be the unthinkable.  In fact, even this year, it was considered merely a remote possibility,  yet it happened with the help of Palin's blessing and the tea party types.  Alternately, some will point to the Arizona US Senate race race as a repudiation of the tea party contingent in THAT state.

But hold the phone.  Palin also endorsed the winner in AZ.

Jay Riemersma announced this morning he's giving away a signed copy of Sarah Palin's book, Going Rogue, to the 85th online donor of $10 and up.

Then the story got picked up by Politico and the GR Press.  Smart play all around.

I'd encourage right Michigan readers to support this strong conservative candidate for Congress, and get a chance at an autographed copy of Going Rogue.  Just be sure to let me know if you're number 84...I've still got a few names on my Christmas list that would love this book.  You can donate here.

From the Riemersma campaign via email this morning:

News you can use: parents of disabled children feel enriched

One of the more ghoulish arguments for abortion is that children deemed in utero to be unable to live a "normal" life shouldn't be allowed to live. This includes diagnoses for especially Down syndrome, and also for other conditions such as spina bifida, anencephaly, Klinefelter or Turner's syndrome, and the list goes on and on. This is becoming the new form of eugenics where those deemed "undesirable" are simply terminated. Recall that Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger (or am I thinking Ruth Bader Ginsburg?), a true disciple of Molech, was a eugenics supporter and started her organization for the express purpose of killing off minorities. Especially black people. That continues to this day as Planned Parenthood butcher shops are propped up not in well-off suburbs but rather minority urban settings. Abortions based on defects, no matter the uncertainty (not that that matters anyway), is being mainstreamed by pro-aborts as "compassionate." Nothing could be further from the truth. Here are the abortion rates for babies diagnosed in utero with the following:
    Down syndrome: 90%
    Spina bifida: 70%
    anencephaly: 80%
    Klinefelter or Turner's syndrome: 58%
One of my childhood friends has had a baby with Down syndrome a few years back now. Initially, it was devastating to them. But the baby girl is 6 years old now and is nothing short of a joy to be around. She has, by their own admission, enriched their lives. In fact, one of the secrets that pro-aborts don't want you to know is that children with disabilities tend to enrich the lives of parents far more than they burden them. Last week, I wrote a post about Rick and Dick Hoyt, who do marathons together with one caveat...

    More below the fold...
